The problem, Prohibition

There are great groups out there trying to end the war on drugs. People like Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php) and stopthedrugwar.org. These organizations have the right idea, but no plan to replace prohibition. The just say legalize, with out ever saying how. Now there is a plan, Plain White Box.

  1. There was no absolute, rigid plan to replace alcohol prohibition. It was left up to the states, and different states, even different towns, adopted different plans. And they change over time. Part of the beauty of legalization and regulation is that it allows us to peacefully and practically adjust the regulations, to either tighten or loosen them as we, not street dealers or cartels, deem appropriate. One size doesn't have to fit all, but there are many examples of partial legalization (see the safe injection sites for heroin in half a dozen European countries, for example) that give a good feel for what a heroin addict would be offered (and how much better it would be for everyone except street dealers) if it were legalized and regulated.

  2. Bill your probably right, but ITS NOT HAPPENING! With a plan at least it would stand a much better chance of happening.
